Practice & Lesson Tips
2) Warm-up your embouchure with long tones and/or humming and
playing.
3) Warm-up your fingers with scales
4) Warm-up your brain with sight-reading
5) All exercises and warm-ups must be played with a metronome.
6) Practice as if the world were watching- if you practice carelessly,
you will never be prepared.
7) Don’t forget your PLAYING music-and just have fun!
8) Always come prepared with all of your material
9) Invest in a voice recorder to record your lessons- it is easy to
forget exactly what the teacher said.
10) Make sure your flute is warm so you don’t have to waste time
tuning.
11) Bring the piano parts to your solos- it is crucial that not only you
study your part, but the piano part as well. It is very important to
know the relationship between the piano and solo.
12) DON’T WASTE TIME.- these tips are all to help you save time.
Lessons are very expensive and it is my goal to make the best of
